Cloud
Claude Code runs in a private sandbox on this server, signed in with your Claude account. Nothing to install. The server operator can see cloud chats.
Your Mac
Claude Code runs on your own Mac, in your own projects. Messages are end to end encrypted, so this server only relays data it can't read. Needs the plugin below.
Set up your Mac
You need:
- A Mac with Claude Code installed and signed in
- Bun, which runs the plugin:
curl -fsSL https://bun.sh/install | bash - The Watch Agent Assistant app on your iPhone, with your Apple Watch paired to it
-
Install the plugin
Open Terminal on your Mac and run:
curl -fsSL https://watchagentassistant.alasolutions.co.uk/install.sh | bash
It downloads the plugin to
~/.local/share/watchpilot, installs its dependencies and adds two commands to~/.local/bin:claude-watchpilotandclaude-watchpilot-pair. -
Pair your iPhone
The installer shows an 8 character code. On your iPhone open Settings > Chat > Pair a machine and enter it.
Your iPhone then shows a 6 digit code. Type it into Terminal, then confirm on the iPhone. Your Apple Watch is added to the same Mac automatically.
-
Start Claude Code with the plugin
In any project, run
claude-watchpilotinstead ofclaude. On first launch choose I am using this for local development. Channels are a Claude Code research preview, so the plugin loads as a development channel.Your Mac shows as online in the app while that session is running. Pick it as the target on your watch and start talking.
Prefer to read it first?
Download the installer (install.sh), read it, then run bash install.sh. It fetches the plugin bundle from this site. If you run your own hub, add --hub https://your-hub.example.
Commands
claude-watchpilot | Start Claude Code with the plugin loaded |
claude-watchpilot-pair | Pair another iPhone or Apple Watch, no session needed |
/watchpilot:status | Inside Claude Code: hub, paired devices and connection state |
/watchpilot:pair | Inside Claude Code: pair a device from the session |
/watchpilot:unpair <device> | Inside Claude Code: remove a paired device |
If something goes wrong
| Missing bun | Install Bun with the command above, open a new Terminal window and run the installer again. |
| command not found | Add ~/.local/bin to your PATH: echo 'export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.zshrc, then open a new Terminal window. |
| Code expired | Pairing codes last 5 minutes. Run claude-watchpilot-pair for a new one. |
| Mac shows offline | The app can only reach your Mac while claude-watchpilot is running. |
| Watch can't see your Mac | In the iPhone app, swipe right on the Mac in Settings > Chat and tap Add Apple Watch while a session is running. |
Privacy
Chats with your Mac are encrypted on your devices with keys this server never sees. Pairing uses a code you check on both screens, so the server can't insert itself. Plugin keys stay in your Mac's Keychain and device keys stay in the Secure Enclave.
Cloud chats run on this server, so they are visible to its operator.
